IMAPTSE
MAPTSE is installed automatically on the Telephony Office-LinX™ enterprise UC platform. This gateway is used to provide a single data store for both email messages and voice messages. By unifying these stores it gives the user a single access point for retrieving their messages. The IMAPTSE gateway also allows for easier backup procedures, because of a unified message store. The desktop (client computer) deployment is also simplified because no changes need to be made to the workstation's software.
The IMAPTSE method of deployment can be used with clustered servers, different domains and across different subnets. The IMAPTSE's ability to connect as many IMAP servers as needed is another significant benefit. Using the IMAP gateway the database is forwarded to the IMAP server, which can be:
- Microsoft® Exchange™ 5.5/2000
- Lotus Notes™
- Novell GroupWise™
- UNIX based platforms
The user's information can still be kept locally on the Telephony Office-LinX™ enterprise UC server, but the user will not have a synchronized mailbox. The information located in the IMAP tab of the mailbox is the actual properties destination of the IMAP mailbox.
The IMAPTSE offers a true simplified universal method for deploying unified messaging in any office infrastructure. The IMAP4 protocol supports anything from UNIX mail to MS Exchange 2000. The IMAPTSE gateway provides Telephony Office-LinX™ with the ability to integrate any message environment. The structure of the gateway enables Telephony Office-LinX™ to also interact with many mail servers so it offers the ability to support clustering and multi-tenanting scenarios where users of each company need integration to specific mail servers. When IMAPTSE is combined with the NEW LDAP importer utility the end result is a robust messaging platform leveraging industry standards for both messaging and directory services to create a universal unified communications platform.
